Diversity Scholarship Application Form for Scholars and Mentors

Scholarships still available!

The Diversity Scholarship Program introduces new preservation leaders to the historic preservation community at the annual preservation conference, hosted each year by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The primary objective of this program is to support conference participation reflecting the diverse nature of America and provide mentors the opportunity to get a fresh perspective on preservation from their Diversity Scholarship mentees. Mentors from across the movement will provide scholars with practical advice and facilitate important networking opportunities during the conference.

The Diversity Scholarship Program honors diversity by providing scholarship opportunities to historically underrepresented groups in the historic preservation profession and in its leadership positions, including ethnicity, race, gender and gender identification, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic background. Those who identify with one or more of these groups are eligible for the Diversity Scholarship.

More mentors are needed this year due to the expanded program. Mentors will meet with the diversity scholars once virtually prior to the conference and are asked to attend a virtual networking event with their scholar on October 27th.
