National Fund for Sacred Places Launches 2023 Letter of Intent
The National Fund for Sacred Places, a program of Partners for Sacred Places in collaboration with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and funded by the Lilly Endowment Inc., will be accepting Letters of Intent from January 11 to February 24, 2023. Congregations meeting the eligibility criteria can apply for matching grants ranging from $50,000 to $250,000 to support significant capital projects at historic houses of worship. National Fund-supported projects, which often include structural repairs, ADA upgrades, or façade restoration, are intended to not only preserve historic sacred places but also to enhance their usage as community assets. After National Fund staff review the LOIs, a select number of congregations will be invited to submit a full application in July. Congregations accepted into the National Fund program will be announced in October.
An informational webinar on submitting a Letter of Intent to the National Fund for Sacred Places will be led by staff from Partners for Sacred Places on February 1 at 12:00PM EST. Please register for this webinar here.
Letters of Intent may be submitted via the Foundant grant system. Late Letters of Intent will not be accepted.
