Membership + Registration
It makes sense to become a part of Preservation Leadership Forum, the network of preservation professionals at the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Members receive BIG discounts on PastForward registration. This year, Forum members registering by September 22 get the same Early Bird rate as 2019, the last year PastForward was in-person. Select "Non-Member Becoming a Member" when registering.

The Diversity Scholarship Program convenes established and emerging leaders in the historic preservation community at the annual PastForward conference. Scholars receive complimentary registration, lodging, and a travel stipend (determined on case-by-case basis based on scholar’s location) to attend PastForward 2023 in Washington, DC, as well as the opportunity to participate in bi-monthly, virtual convenings which will be held through September 2024.
Candidates in the D.C. Metro area are encouraged to apply by the extended deadline of June 1. This extended deadline applies only to those that live, work, or study in the Washington, D.C. metro area, including Maryland and Virginia.
Code of Conduct
The National Trust for Historic Preservation wants to ensure that PastForward 2023 is a fulfilling experience for all. Accordingly, all PastForward attendees are expected to follow the Code of Conduct, which applies at all PastForward in-person and virtual events.
You may cancel your registration and receive a refund, minus a $50 handling fee, if the National Trust receives your request within 30 days of purchase and by October 6, 2023. No refunds will be issued for cancellations requested more than 30 days past the purchase date. No refunds will be given for cancellations requested after October 6, 2023, even if bought less than 30 days prior.
To request a cancellation, you must email us your request in writing. All approved registration refunds will be processed by December 1, 2023.
No-shows are not refunded for any reason. The National Trust does not give credit toward future conferences or National Trust products. The National Trust reserves the right to refuse service.
