PastForward Online 2022: Workshops

Three pre-conference workshops offered in October are open to all conference registrants. These workshops provide either baseline knowledge or more in-depth information on topics covered during conference sessions. More details on post-conference workshops to come.

Conference registration is required to access pre-and post-conference workshops. In addition to these workshops, conference registrants will be able to join the scheduled program in November, as well as on-demand sessions which will also be available in October.

All scheduled and on-demand sessions and workshops be available using a virtual platform accessible via a web browser on laptop or desktop computer.

The Journey of Preservation: Exploring the Process of Historic Building Development from Conception to Operation

The road to the revitalization of larger-scale historic preservation initiatives can be an overwhelming process. We bring together experts in real estate development, preservation, and financing to follow a historic building from its initial planning stages through financing construction. This 90-minute interactive session will discuss how to plan a historic building development, ensure its successful addition to the National Register of Historic Places, and source flexible financing options to help bring your communities’ historic treasures back to life.

This session will provide attendees with the latest information and skills to effectively advocate for and champion key preservation issues.

This workshop serves as a prelude to the Virtual Advocacy component of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s PastForward Online 2022 conference.
