Historic Sotterley is a museum that interprets history spanning three centuries, from 1699-1960. Experience Sotterley’s 94 acres on the Patuxent River, 20 historic buildings to include a 1703 manor house and an original 1830’s slave cabin, six-mile trail system, Colonial Revival Gardens and organic farm. Sotterley tells the stories of its people both enslaved and free from colonial British rule to Civil Rights. Historic Sotterley offers tours, exhibits and programming for all ages, that teach history through the eyes and perspectives of its people to bring relevance from the past to our world today.
