Spotlight on Palace of the Governors in Preservation Magazine

January 29, 2018 by Carson Bear

The Palace of the Governors, a National Treasure of the National Trust, was featured in the Winter 2018 issue of Preservation magazine. The story, "Palace Intrigue," provides a glimpse into the history of this 400-plus year old site and the rehabilitation work that is currently underway. The free, online version of Preservation will be available on February 7, but you will receive a print copy of the magazine when you become a member of the National Trust.

The Trust and our partners are currently working to secure $1.5 million from New Mexico's state legislature for infrastructure repairs to this iconic place. We plan to secure the final installment of state funding in the 2018 New Mexico legislative session, which is currently underway.

From the places listed in the Green Book to the homes of icons like Nina Simone and Pauli Murray, join us in protecting and restoring places where significant African American history happened.
