Preservation Personals: A Country Retreat in Reach of the City

Charming Manor House—Olney, Maryland

If you’ve ever dreamed of the idyllic charms of rural life but still want to be close to the conveniences of a big city, I’m a farm house just 20 miles from Washington, D.C., and 30 miles from Baltimore.

I boast 11 bedrooms, six bathrooms, and five fireplaces, and am the ideal spacious manor house for your escape from the big-city. You say you’re into horse-drawn carriages? Well, I include a stone carriage house. You will have plenty of space for such jaunts: If you buy me, I come with a 4.5-acre lot lined with mature trees. I was built around 1866 and offer plenty of modern amenities—including multiple whirlpool tubs—while retaining my 19th-century character.
