Preservationists gathered at Historic St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for the National Preservation Summit's Advocacy Day.

On September 24, after preservationists gathered for the National Preservation Summit to hear about the current challenges facing historic preservation, it was time to put those conversations into action with a day on Capitol Hill.

With over 350 participants representing 42 states, three territories, and Washington, D.C., advocates had over 230+ meetings with members of Congress and their staff. At each meeting, they advocated for policies that strengthen historic preservation nationwide, focusing on Section 106, Route 66, the Historic Preservation Fund, and the Historic Tax Credit.

After a busy day of meetings, everyone gathered for an evening reception to celebrate a successful day on the Hill and commemorate the 60th anniversary of the National Trust Advisors program.
