The oldest surviving railroad station in the United States, the Baltimore & Ohio Ellicott City Station Museum is the original terminus of the first thirteen miles of commercial track laid in this country. A 40-foot HO-gauge model, housed in E.F. Baldwin's 1885 freight house, shows the path of the 13 miles of commercial track as it stretches from Baltimore, Maryland, to Ellicott City. While no train rides are offered at the station, the model includes a light show and video display, and living historians are present to tell the story of the development of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and its impact on Ellicott City between 1827 and 1868.
