Action Fund Announces Law Parker as 2025 Fellow
The African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund is proud to announce Law Parker as a 2025 Fellow. Parker, a renowned artist and music industry veteran, joins the Action Fund to further explore the intersection of art, history, and Black cultural preservation.
Administered by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Action Fund is the largest dedicated preservation effort for African American historic sites and cultural heritage. Through his fellowship, Parker will focus on amplifying the efforts of the Action Fund’s Preserving Black Churches Program via his unique artistic perspective.
“I'm super excited about being an African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund Fellow,” said Law Parker. “Art has always been a powerful tool for storytelling, and I look forward to using my work to elevate the narratives of Black historic spaces and communities.”
The African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund leads initiatives including the Preserving Black Churches program which provides funding and technical assistance to help protect historic Black churches nationwide. Black churches have long been pillars of their communities, serving as centers for social justice, cultural expression, and resilience. The program will publicly announce its third cohort of grant awardees at the end of February.
Brent Leggs, Executive Director of the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund, welcomed Parker’s appointment, stating: “The Black Church has been a launchpad and cultural touchstone for countless artists who have gone on to shape American music, literature, and visual art. Law Parker’s artistry and dedication to cultural preservation embody this legacy, and we are proud to support his work. His fellowship will bring new creative storytelling to our shared mission.”
Law Parker is available for interviews to discuss his fellowship, artistic journey, and the role of art in preserving Black history. For media inquiries or to schedule an interview, please contact Roberto J. Hylton at roberto@merakicommsgroup.com.
