Reviews

The African American Art & Culture Complex (AAACC) sits at San Francisco's geographic heart in the historic Fillmore District. The district is one of two historically black communities remaining in San Francisco. From Fillmore, all of San Francisco is accessible via the many transit routes running through the district.

As the only city-owned cultural center for the preservation of African American art and culture, the AAACC is committed to guarding Fillmore’s history for the community.

The AAACC building contains an art gallery space, a world-class theater, and a large venue hall that is open to the public. The site also hosts nine different nonprofit organizations, including three theater organizations, an after-school youth program, a dance company, a karate school, and a community garden nonprofit.

The AAACC’s signature community events range from a Martin Luther King National Day of Service, to Black History Month programming, a Juneteenth commemoration, Kwanzaa Celebrations, and the AAACC Holiday Fair.
