Buffalo Trace Distillery proudly holds the title of oldest continually operating distillery in America, remaining operational even during Prohibition - for "medicinal" purposes. Our distillery offers visitors a taste of history, heritage, and—of course—fine Kentucky bourbon.

Buffalo Trace offers six different complimentary tours per day (seven days a week) which include a bourbon tasting. The National Historic Landmark Tour will teach guests why we are described as a "rare, intact example of a distillery operating before, during, and after Prohibition." This educational and informative tour focuses on the buildings, architecture, and history in the years between 1933 and 1953, which is the period of significance on which the National Historic Landmark distinction is based.

Rich in history and hospitality, Buffalo Trace has something to offer everyone. The distillery sits on over 400 acres in the heart of bourbon country with four centuries of architecture represented on the site. The grounds are beautifully manicured all year long, with colorful blossoms in the spring and vibrant foliage in the fall. A trip along the bourbon trail is not complete without a visit to the world's most award-winning distillery.
