George Eastman Museum is two museums in one! Visit the world’s leading museum of photography and cinema, and the stately National Historic Landmark home and gardens that George Eastman called home from 1905 to 1932. The founder of Eastman Kodak Company, Eastman is heralded as the father of modern photography and a pioneer in motion picture film.

This 12.5-acre estate in the heart of Rochester’s cultural district offers a variety of exhibitions of historic and contemporary photographs, cameras spanning the history of photography, and displays that chronicle Eastman's personal and professional life. Explore the discovery room, a hands-on learning center for all ages. Stroll the restored gardens and grounds. Take in a film, screened nightly in the historic Dryden Theatre. There's something for everyone in the Eastman Museum Store, and our cafe offers a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and homemade gelato. Plus, try a piece of Eastman's famous lemon pie.

Guided tours of the house and gardens (in season) are offered daily, and audio and cell phone tours are also available. Free parking is included.

Visit this collections guide to see some of the thousands of items in the museum.
