Reviews

Sotterley Plantation is a museum that interprets history spanning three centuries, from 1699 to 1960. Experience Sotterley’s 94 acres on the Patuxent River, 20 historic buildings that include a 1703 manor house and an original 1830s slave cabin, six-mile trail system, Colonial Revival Gardens, and organic farm. Sotterley tells the stories of its people both enslaved and free from colonial British rule until the Civil Rights Movement. Historic Sotterley offers tours, exhibits, and programming for all ages, teaching history through the eyes of its people to bring relevance from the past into our world today.

Open for tours May 1 through October 31.
