Reviews

South Union Shaker Village (SUSV) is a historic site that offers award-winning exhibitions and education programming, focused on the folk life and material culture of the former Shaker community (1807-1922). Situated on 500 acres of the original Shaker farm, the village is comprised of nine historic buildings. Restoration is ongoing, using exemplary methods of historic preservation. The museum includes the nation's largest collection of "southern" Shaker furniture, as well as historic textiles, manuscripts, photographs, and printed material, all relating to the South Union site. SUSV actively interprets the progressive tenets of the Shakers, encouraging our visitors to see what a culture of simplicity, artistry, and equality looks like.

Winter Hours (December - March): Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m.

Visit Facebook and Instagram to watch videos about pieces of furniture in the museum's collection.
