Bipartisan Legislation Re-introduced to #FixOurParks

February 14, 2019

Yesterday, the Restore Our Parks and Public Lands Act (H.R. 1225) was re-introduced by Representatives Rob Bishop (R-UT) and Derek Kilmer (D-WA) in the House and the Restore Our Parks Act (S. 500) was re-introduced by Senators Rob Portman (R-OH), Mark Warner (D-VA), Lamar Alexander (R-TN), and Angus King (I-ME) in the Senate. This legislation would provide dedicated and reliable funding to address the National Park Service deferred maintenance backlog, with the House bill also addressing the backlog of other federal agencies. This legislation garnered the bipartisan support of more than 230 cosponsors in the House of Representatives and more than one-third of the Senate during the last session of Congress.

While this great news is reason to celebrate, there is still work to be done! You can help speak up for our national parks by urging your Senators and Representative to co-sponsor these bills and share your support for taking action on this important issue using social media with #FixOurParks.
