B&O Railroad Museum
As the first railroad to hire a publicity agent, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad unknowingly took the first steps towards creating America's railroad museum. What originally started as a trade show exhibit outlived the railroad company itself, becoming the oldest and most comprehensive American railroad collection in the world. Located in Baltimore's historic southwestern neighborhoods and the original birthplace of the B&O Railroad, the museum occupies E.F. Baldwin's Roundhouse and a 40 acre campus. Visitors to the museum can experience a world-renowned collection of artifacts detailing the history, people, and cultures involved in building the American railroad. Train rides are offered along the first mile of commercial train track laid in the country.
