Statement on Mitchell Park Domes Community Survey Results

On August 1, the Milwaukee County Task Force on the Mitchell Park Domes met to discuss results of the recent community survey results, as well as results of the reports conducted to date. The community survey gave the public the opportunity to weigh in on the future of the Milwaukee Domes, with the results showing an overwhelming support for the preservation and rehabilitation of the Domes.

Below is the statement the Save Our Domes coalition made at Wednesday’s meeting:

“For more than 50 years, the Mitchell Park Domes have been an essential and defining part of Milwaukee, a treasure for not only the local community but the entire state of Wisconsin. We are pleased to see that the results of the Phase 2 community survey reflect a desire to see the Domes preserved and rehabilitated.

As the Phase 1 report makes clear, reinvesting in the Mitchell Park Domes would spur transformative educational, conservation, social, and community benefits as well as encouraging economic growth and job creation.

We hope that Milwaukee County will continue to take this overwhelming community support of the restoration and preservation of all three Mitchell Park Domes into account as the future of this historic landmark is decided.”
