Front of Brenham Historic Bus Depot.
The Brenham Heritage Museum in Brenham, Texas will use $5,000 to assess the deteriorating rafters and other internal structural issues that threaten the historic Brenham Bus Depot. Built in 1947 in the Art Deco style by the Kerrville Bus Company, the station ceased operations in 2007. The Brenham Heritage Museum purchased the building in 2008 and rehabilitated it into the Bus Depot Gallery, a museum and community event space. Restoration efforts will ensure this iconic building continues to be a cornerstone of the revitalized downtown historic district.
