Naco Heritage Alliance | Naco, Arizona

$10,000 will support fabrication and installation of preservation-sensitive interpretive infrastructure of the historic adobe interior at the A2 Barracks at Camp Naco. The camp is one of 35 permanent camps constructed in 1919 along the U.S.–Mexico border and housed African American troops from the Ninth and Tenth Cavalry Regiments, and later the Twenty-fifth Infantry Regiment, collectively known as Buffalo Soldiers.

Fort DuPont Redevelopment & Preservation Corp. | Delaware City, Delaware

$7,000 will be used to hire a preservation architect to document Fort DuPont’s historic Guard House interior (tin walls/ceilings), develop a phased restoration plan, and evaluate reuse options. Built in 1901, the building served as the post’s guardhouse and jail.

County of Maui | Wailuku, Hawaii

$10,000 for educational programming that engages youth in schools and the community to discover, document, and preserve Lahaina’s wahi pana (celebrated and storied places in the cultural traditions of Hawai’i) by integrating the concept of community-based participatory archaeology, interactive learning experiences, and STEAM educational opportunities.

City of Logansport | Logansport, Indiana

$5,000 to partially fund the design of accessible ramps at two entrances of the Historic Logansport-Cass County Memorial Center, which is undergoing rehabilitation to return to active community use.

Fairbanks Family in America, Inc. | Dedham, Massachusetts

$10,000 will be used for urgent structural stabilization and roof replacement at the Fairbanks House Museum. Built in 1637, the Fairbanks House is the oldest surviving timber-frame residence in North America.

Friends of North Leverett Sawmill, Inc. | Leverett, Massachusetts

$10,000 toward the planning and design of all mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems required to restore the 1774 sawmill to modern use as an industrial heritage museum and community space.

Canterbury Shaker Village | Canterbury, New Hampshire

$10,000 supporting preservation activities for the 1792 Meeting House, completed in connection with a new historic preservation internship. Through a unique partnership with Preservation Timber Framing, Inc., experts will teach and guide interns as they gain hands-on experience preserving a National Historic Landmark.

Warner House Association | Portsmouth, New Hampshire

$7,000 to stabilize and replace a beam that supports the main staircase, which is a central feature of the Warner House museum. The work is necessary for the safety of visitors and to protect wall murals that wrap around the staircase from 1720 that are believed to be the oldest extant murals in America.

Friends of the Howe | House Montclair, New Jersey

$5,000 toward a strategic planning consultant to guide the organization through a focused planning process. Originally built to house enslaved workers in the late 18th or early 19th century, it later became the home of James Howe, a newly manumitted man who was bequeathed the house, six acres, and $400 upon his enslaver’s death. Howe farmed the land, and research suggests a small free Black community developed nearby.

Cornerstones Community Partnerships | Santa Fe, New Mexico

$10,000 will fund stabilization of the Rowland Home and Adobe Cook House in City of Industry, California. Grant funds will support early-phase preservation work necessary to protect the building from continued deterioration while preparing it for future rehabilitation and expanded public use.

Athens Cultural Center | Athens, New York

$5,000 to support architectural and campaign fundraising services that launch a capital campaign to rehabilitate its 1850s commercial building in the Athens Lower Village Historic District.

Canalway Partners | Cleveland, Ohio

$10,000 to conduct a feasibility study on two extant buildings historically used for light industrial or office space to evaluate compatible conversion in a historic rehabilitation of the Flour Mill District.

The First Congregational Church of Bennington | Bennington, Vermont

$10,000 for a conditions assessment of the 45 historic windows of the church and the main floor system of the sanctuary to make plans for repairs as part of a larger restoration project. The congregation was the first Protestant church in Vermont (c. 1762) and their current building dates to 1805.

Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation | Rome, Georgia

$8,000 to support stabilization and repair of original 1929 vaulted plaster and restoration of historically accurate paint finishes in the DeSoto Theatre’s entrance vestibule, preserving a character-defining historic interior space.

Friends of Historic Second Church | Chicago, Illinois

$5,000 to conserve murals by Fredric Clay Bartlett in the balcony arches of Second Presbyterian Church Chicago. The 1874 church sanctuary was redesigned by Howard Van Doren Shaw in 1901 after a fire and is one of the nation’s earliest and intact nonresidential expressions of American Arts and Crafts.

Laurent House Foundation | Rockford, Illinois

$3,000 to assist in creating new draperies and restoring the original furniture of the Laurent House. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1948 for Ken Laurent, a paraplegic and WWII veteran, the site has been open as a museum since 2014.

Des Moines County Historical Society | Burlington, Iowa

$10,000 to fabricate historically appropriate light fixtures, reinstall the restored library Crow’s Nest desk, and replumb the original 1898 Jewel Marble and Bronze water feature at the Des Moines County Historical Society’s Heritage Center. The building was originally the Burlington Free Library, the first free public library west of the Mississippi River.

Longue Vue House and Gardens | New Orleans, Louisiana

$5,000 to conduct vital conservation work on 19th-century hand-painted Chinese wallpaper in the dining room. Famed landscape architect Ellen Biddle Shipman created a unified site plan for both the building interior and the gardens for the Stern family, and it is the only surviving example where her plan remains intact and open to the public.

Detroit Sound Conservancy | Detroit, Michigan

$15,000 to reinstall the Blue Bird Inn's original performance stage, a historically significant interior centerpiece and an exceptional example of African American mid-century vernacular art and design. Hundreds of musicians, including national giants Miles Davis and John Coltrane and local stalwarts Tommy Flanagan, Yusef Lateef, Terry Pollard, and Elvin Jones, performed on this stage from the late 1950s until the club's closing at the turn of the century.

Underground Railroad Society of Cass County | Vandalia, Michigan

$7,500 to hire a decorative painter to re-create faux burl and graining on doors, trim, and stairs in the Bonine House. The Bonines were Quakers who were active in the Underground Railroad. They built the house in 1845 and expanded and remodeled it around 1870, which included this style of decorative paint.

The Whitfield Historical Foundation | St. Louis, Missouri

$5,000 to support preservation planning and documentation for the interior of the Rev. Owen H. Whitfield Sharecropper Cabin, built in 1941 as part of a sharecropper camp. Whitfield lived in the cabin with his wife and youngest children, and it served as a domestic space and center for community leadership during a pivotal period of labor organizing and civil rights activism. Once restored, the foundation intends to stabilize and interpret the interior as a museum reflecting 1940s–1950s life.

Thomas Cole Historic House | Catskill, New York

$5,000 to preserve, restore, and open the Milk Room in the 1815 Main House. The project is part of an ongoing initiative to interpret the life and labor of a free Black woman identified in the census as part of the household. This is part of an ongoing effort to expand the interpretation of the site beyond artist Thomas Cole and tell the stories of others who lived and worked on the site.

Seneca Falls Performing Arts Center | Seneca Falls, New York

$5,000 to repair and/or replace damaged or missing components of the interior woodwork at the former First Congregational Church (1870). The group will repurpose the church into a cultural hub for the community, providing an intimate gathering space to showcase the arts.

Wilson Bruce Evans Home Historical Society | Oberlin, Ohio

$7,500 to restore the 1870s entry hall, including stairs, doors, woodwork, lighting and carpet of the Evans House. Wilson Bruce Evans and his brother Henry, Black abolitionists and skilled cabinetmakers, moved to the site in Oberlin in 1854, and expanded it after 1870. This work is part of a larger $1.5 million rehabilitation, and when completed, the house will tell the story of Wilson Bruce Evans, his family, and the long struggle for racial justice.

Oviatt House Inc. | Richfield, Ohio

$7,500 to repair and restore existing plaster walls at the Oviatt House. The home was built in 1836 and was part of the Underground Railroad. In 1937 the property was sold to the Cleveland Girl Scout Council and it became the 336-acre Camp Crowell Hilaka where it was used as the caretaker residence until 2011.

Friends of Sellers Hall | Upper Darby, Pennsylvania

$5,000 toward the preparation of an interpretive restoration plan of the oldest section of Sellers Hall, ca. 1684. This project will establish a clear, preservation-based roadmap for restoring the interior while transforming the space into an educational resource for the public.

Friends of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park DBA National Park Partners | Chattanooga, Tennessee

$7,500 to restore (and reconstruct where necessary) the interior stairs, wood mantels, and interior trim at the historic Brown’s Ferry Tavern. The tavern was built in 1803. It is adjacent to a Trail of Tears route and was a Union army encampment site during the 1863 Battle of Brown’s Ferry.

Judd Foundation | Marfa, Texas

$5,000 to support a historic restoration of Donald Judd's Architecture Studio in Marfa, Texas, which houses an extensive collection of modernist art and design by major twentieth-century figures, including Judd himself.

Friends of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park | Johnson City, Texas

$7,500 will be used to help fund conservation of the historic first floor wallpaper at the “Texas White House.” President Johnson spent about 25% of his presidency working from there. The Johnson’s donated 674 acres, including the site, to the NPS in 1972.

Oatlands | Leesburg, Virginia

$15,000 to assess and stabilize interior plaster deterioration, including peeling and efflorescence, in its National Historic Landmark mansion. Funds will support diagnostic analysis and priority repairs to protect the historic interior.

Harpers Ferry-Bolivar Historic Town Foundation | Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

$9,000 to restore and electrify the original oil-lamp chandelier in the former historic First Zion Baptist Church in Harpers Ferry.

African American Community Association of Jefferson County | Martinsburg, West Virginia

$7,500 to engage a preservation architect to develop a conservation and interpretation plan for the Webb House kitchen (c. 1830), preserving its earthen floor and stone oven while preparing the space for safe public tours.
