Plan Your VisitLocated within the West Washington National Historic Register District of South Bend, Indiana, the Hansel Center began as a children’s dispensary in 1925 and was later utilized as a neighborhood center, and administrative offices for Head Start. The building fell vacant from 2003–2012 and now, after extensive renovation, houses the 14,000-square-foot Notre Dame Center for Arts and Culture; including the Crossroads Gallery, Segura Arts Studio, the University of Notre Dame’s Office of Community Relations, and educational programming. The NDCAC connects with the university and community at large through diverse programming opportunities focusing on arts and culture.
