The historic depot is a modern icon of Saluda’s beginning and subsequent prosperity with the coming of the train bringing passengers up the Saluda Grade, the steepest standard-gauge mainline railway grade in the country. The primary focus of the museum is the railroad and the Saluda Grade, bringing over 35,000 visitors since its opening in 2015.
