Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria

This Place Matters - Help send critical supplies to the people of Puerto Rico

Step up for Puerto Rico

Your donation will send much needed supplies to help the recovery efforts.

With Puerto Rico still reeling from Hurricane Maria, the community there faces an urgent need. During the storm, thousands of buildings—historic and new—lost their roofs. Now, every fresh rain further damages these places, delaying people’s return to their homes, businesses, and normal routines.

The National Trust is stepping up to address this need, and asks you to join us. Every donation of $75 will provide a tarp to an affected home or other building to protect it from the elements, slow the structural damage, and help our fellow citizens get back on their feet faster.

Our partner, Para La Naturaleza (Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico), will receive the tarps and ensure they are put to good use as quickly as possible.

Our immediate goal is $15,000—enough to purchase 200 tarps and address our partner’s most immediate needs. If we exceed our goal, all additional funds will be applied to recovery work in Puerto Rico and other places impacted by the recent natural disasters.

As the people of Puerto Rico undertake the long-term work of recovery and restoration, we remain by their side. The buildings may be damaged, but the communities remain strong—thanks to your support.
